Meet Our New Clinician: Vidya Arora

Hi, my name is Vidya, I am so glad you are here!

My goal in writing this blog is to create additional space to share thoughts, and resources and add to the dialogue surrounding the concepts of wellness, life adjustments, and mental health.

When I think about counselling, I am drawn to reflect on my client’s strength, authenticity, bravery, and openness to move through times of challenge and engage in the process of healing.

I believe the concept of counselling is collaborative, explorative, and profoundly unique to the needs of the individual.

At present, I work with a range of adults who are navigating life transitions and or losses. In the past, I have supported both older adults and their associated family members within the long-term care sector offering therapeutic interventions across various circumstances surrounding the trauma of COVID-19. I also have experience working in groups with women who have experienced trauma in interpersonal relationships. As an international adoptee, I have had the opportunity to engage with fellow practitioners in advocating for open dialogue among both adoptive parents and fellow adoptees.

My approach draws on a holistic, empathic, evidence-based, and insight-oriented dialogue that draws on one’s individual lived experience. I seek to offer a safe space with individualized care that will address your concerns, provide room for exploration of self, and offer resources to meet your needs. Whether you are navigating life changes, finding your footing as the world re-opens, feeling a loss of control, overwhelmed with school or work, experiencing a loss, or coping with anxiety, I am honoured to walk with you throughout your journey, and toward the path of healing.

At present, I am offering evening and weekend appointments by virtual delivery to make it as easy as possible to access the care you need. I welcome the opportunity to offer you a free 15-minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity for us to chat before you decide to schedule your first session. During this call, we will be able to get to know each other better. I can start to answer any questions that you may have, and we can determine if I am the right fit for you.

With Warmth,

Vidya Isha Arora
