Meet Our Clinician: Tanvi Yenna (Again!)
Hi again!
I have been at TRC for almost a year and a half, and now feels like an appropriate time for me to share a bit about myself again.
The past year working at Toronto Relationship Clinic has not so much changed my career path, but it has re-centred me in a way that affirms my values and lets me work in a way that is more aligned with my values. 2026 marks ten years of having the honour of doing trauma-focused social work. This year, I’m learning just how much those experiences have driven me towards anti-carceral, transformative justice work.
Some old things about me:
I still love working with trans and queer folks, disabled folks, neurodivergent folks, and people at all of those intersections.
I still value therapy as a tool to achieve a higher level of self-understanding.
I still think about how power may be at play in all settings, with previous partners, at toxic workplaces, and even within our therapist-client relationships.
I am still taking new clients! I still have some evening spots left and daytime availability as well. Please reach out via email, Instagram, or directly on Jane if you’re interested in meeting with me for a free consultation!
Some new things about me:
I no longer have red hair (please respect my space as I grieve).
I use any pronouns. Gender is fake!!
I have started meeting with more people who have sexually harmed others. I still prioritize and deeply value my work with survivors! Seeing folks on various parts of the sexual harm spectrum allows me to develop my empathy skills and live more according to my abolitionist moral compass.
I’m delving into a training on Internal Family Systems Therapy, and I have been incorporating this into my work with both offenders and survivors. It has been exciting to watch people get to know their parts, befriend them and create little pockets of internal peace.
As I complete my fourth year as a therapist and enter my eleventh year as a social worker, I hope to continue to expand my toolbox as a trauma therapist. I hope to get more practice in Internal Family Systems work, Brainspotting, and co-facilitating groups.
I hope to meet with you soon!
